June 2025 Moose Tracks

A Word From Your President

Happy June, Moose 42!
As I write this message, I am returning from the 137th Moose International Convention, held in Milwaukee, WI. It was an inspiring and remarkable event. The General Sessions of the convention featured insightful reports from the Moose International Board, along with the mission statements of the Moose Legion and the encouraging messages at the Fellowship Breakfast and Conferral. Congratulations to the Moose Members within our district, the state Moose Association, and throughout the fraternity who were elevated to the Fellowship Degree of Honor and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

A particularly memorable highlight of the trip was a visit to Mooseheart Child City and School. This experience truly put into perspective the phrase “fruits of our labor.” I look forward to sharing many photographs and wonderful memories with all of you.

Additionally, I would like to extend my gratitude to the Moose Legion and Women of the Moose for organizing an exceptional Memorial Day barbecue.

We have several events to look forward to in June. A special election for the 1-Year Trustee position is scheduled for Monday, June 2nd. Please come by and vote for our highly qualified candidates.

The installation of the new 1-year Trustee will take place at our next meeting on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 7:00 PM. We encourage everyone to join us and learn more about what your lodge is doing for Mooseheart, Moosehaven, and our community.

Thank you to all our members. Wishing you a joyful June!

Fraternally,
Alvin J. Camacho
President – LOOM Mandarin Lodge 42

Wise Words from the WOTM

The Women of the Moose had a very successful Spring Raffle! The drawing was held on May 9th, during the Moosehaven dinner. Congratulations to our winners – Moosehaven residents, Mr. Ott, Bill Merry, and Steve Watts! I would like to thank all who purchased tickets to contribute funds to our charities.

We have established our Chapter policies, and designated monthly donations to various charities throughout the year. As a benefit of having a successful chapter, we can contribute to charitable organizations within our community on a regular basis. We are also checking into sponsoring another Mooseheart Sunshine Child.

We have resumed the bake sale, and it is very successful. I would like to thank the ladies for providing baked goods and assisting in the sales. Our members indicated that they missed the desserts during the break in April. It is so wonderful that they enjoy our baked goods.

The Moosehaven dinner was held on May 9th with a Spring theme. Thank you to all who volunteered to decorate, bake desserts, and assist with the dinner. It is such a joy to be able to serve our Seniors at Moosehaven! Moosehaven breakfast was held on May 25th; however, the breakfast will be discontinued starting in June due to the kitchen being closed. The Lodge will be serving lunch and entertainment starting June 24th in lieu of the breakfast.

The next Moosehaven dinner will be on June 13th. Volunteers are needed to assist in the decorating and setting up on the 12th and to serve on the 13th starting at 5:30 PM.

Our next Chapter meeting will be on June 12th at 6:30 PM. Please join us!

Wishing everyone a great summer!

Moose Legion is at it Again!

Happy June to everyone.

Thank you for all your continued support of the Moose Legion 42 committee. Thank you to all our Moose Legionnaires who continue to be an example of faith, hope, and charity – the cornerstone of the Moose Legion.

We had our Memorial Day Cookout on Monday May 26th. It was a huge success. Thank you for the members that came out to support the Moose Legionnaires.

We had our Memorial Day Raffle for Dave & Busters and the winner was Al Gomez. For June we are also doing 2 Raffles for Rtic Coolers. Please see the flyers posted in the lodge for more infor-mation about purchasing tickets ($10.00) from either a Moose Legionnaire or a SQA behind the bar.

Your support provides for us to be able to support the Mandarin Moose Legion Committee. Thank you to my Moose Legion brothers, the Women of the Moose, and all those who helped with the barbecue. Your support is greatly appreciated, as always.

The Moose organization is the largest fraternal organization in the world! If you are interested in being a member of the Lodge and the Moose Legion, and being a part of this great organization in what we do for our beloved seniors at Moosehaven and our adopted children at Mooseheart, we welcome you to join us. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any Moose Legionnaire and we will assist you in answering any questions. You may join us as a guest at our meetings to learn more about what we do, as well. We bring fun, fellowship and service together. Also, when you become a Moose Legionnaire, the Moose Legion will pay you.

We are happy to announce that the Seminole 81 Celebration will be held June 6th, 7th and 8th, 2025, at Moose Lodge 624, located at 624 NE Williams St, Lake City, FL 32055. With your support, the Mandarin Moose Legion Committee continues to support our Lodge, the Mandarin Moose Lodge Scholarship Fund, the FMA Emergency Relief Fund, the Mooseheart Wish List, the Moose-haven Wish List, and other worthy causes.

It is with the greatest privilege that we can serve. Mandarin Moose 42, I continue to be thankful
for your continued fellowship and support.

Fraternally,
Matt Durbin
